Trinket snakes (Coelognathus helena)
These are great snakes to keep. They feed aggressively, are hardy, and breed readily. I recommend keeping them in plastic tubs. A 28, 32, or 41 quart tub should provide plenty of room. They do not need excessive heat. I only create a hotspot with heat tape of 82F and keep them in rooms that stay in the mid to upper 70s year round. They do not need to be cooled in order to breed. A humid hide is needed for shedding and egg deposition but aspen or paper will work fine for a substrate. They can become very food aggressive and I always feed them while they are in their individual tubs so as to avoid fights over food. Incubation at 78-80F and a 1:1 water/vermiculite by weight seems to work fine.
